ALINA NICULITA RECEIVES ACCREDITED SENIOR APPRAISER (ASA) IN BUSINESS VALUATION DESIGNATION

The American Society of Appraisers has awarded Alina Niculita its Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) in Business Valuation designation. Ms. Niculita, a Portland, Oregon appraiser who has been performing business valuations for the past five years, and who has made significant contributions to the business valuation profession, plans to continue taking an active role in professional development and leadership in this field.


Ms. Niculita, a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) who is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Shannon Pratt Valuations, Inc., a nationally recognized business appraisal firm headquartered Portland, Oregon, regularly presents on a variety of business valuation topics for attorneys, CPAs, appraisers, and other professionals. She is a contributor to leading texts on business valuation, and is the author with Shannon Pratt of Valuing a Business: The Analysis and Appraisal of Closely Held Companies, 5th edition, and a co-author of Business Valuation Body of Knowledge Workbook, 2nd Edition, the Cost of Capital Workbook, and The Lawyer's Business Valuation Handbook, 2nd Edition (due to be published in early 2010).


At Shannon Pratt Valuations, Ms. Niculita works on all aspects of case management including the fundamental aspects of business valuation and economic analysis and report writing. Ms. Niculita has been involved in business valuation engagements for various purposes such as transactions in company stock, estate and gift taxes, and litigation support. Ms. Niculita has also worked on valuations of intangible assets and fairness and solvency opinions.


Ms. Niculita received a dual MBA in finance from the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business, University of Pittsburgh and from the Czech Management Center, Czech Republic. She also received a B.S. in economics with a concentration in banking and finance from the Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest, Romania.
